Fall Vineyard Anniversary Session | Christine & Nate

Published in Anniversary
There is something very different about photographing a married couple. They have done life together, for however long, as husband and wife. There is a comfort that exists when they hold one another and look into one another's eyes. Their wedding day has come and gone and their love has changed - it's a little wiser, it's stronger, it's weathered more storms and experienced more joy over the years. They didn't just pick one another on that special wedding day, but have chosen one another every single day since then. Over and over again.

I didn't know Christine and Nate when they were married four years ago, but I can tell you that their love is undoubtly all of those things... stronger, wiser, brighter. It's what can happen with time and a love like theirs - it ages and becomes more beautiful. They are fun loving and each know how to make the other laugh like no one else can, not to mention their indescribable and undenyable happiness when they are together! Spending time with them at one of my favorite vineyards and for their four year anniversary, only made my love for anniversary sessions grow that.much.more.

You two are truly beautiful inside and out and I know you will laugh together for decades to come with a love that should be celebrated as much as possible! Happy Anniversary!

Brooklyn Bridge Anniversary Session

Published in Anniversary
When Diane & Will said they wanted to do a Rock the Dress session for their one year anniversary I was OH SO excited. Then when they mentioned they wanted to do it on the Brooklyn Bridge my photographer's heart skipped a beat! And let me tell you, it was ah-mazing!

In that early morning sunrise light, the bridge appeared like it was made of pure gold - the brilliant kind that's found on the other side of the rainbow. The sunshine painted each beam and cable, completely and totally highlighting the bridge's iconic architecture. Diane looked stunning in her beautiful wedding gown all over again and Will was dapper as he held his bride's hand. As we walked the bridge, we reminisced about their sweet wedding day one year ago and talked about what life had brought to their door step now.

The dress, the view, the sunshine were gorgeous but the most beautiful thing? The thing that started 1 year prior - their marriage. It was a celebration of sorts of the first year of their journey together through life as husband and wife. The excitement and love that existed on their wedding date was still there, and stronger.

What an honor it was to photograph these two in the city that will always have a special place in my heart at a place that means so much to them! Happy 1st Anniversary Diane & Will! :)

CT Mini Anniversary Session | Jenn & Julio

Published in Anniversary
They are one of those couples that is up for anything and down for whatever. Liiiike doing a mini anniversary session in thirty degree weather just because. You wouldn't know it was fah-reezing with these two though! I had so much fun spending time with Jenn and Julio laughing and pretending we were all on some tropical island drinking fruity drinks with those fun umbrellas... you know the ones I am talking about! Jenn is a food writer and tv personality (That's SO Jenn) so I kind of felt like I already knew her when I first met her. I have drooled over her yummy cooking segments on TV many a times before. And Julio? They don't come any cooler then him.

Annnnd it was extra special to have the fabulous Sabrina of Get Glam Girl who rocked Jenn's makeup on hand for their session! Here are few of my favorites from their mini anniversary session!

CT Anniversary Session | Nell & Chris

Published in Anniversary
"Love is a wonderful gift. It's a present so precious words can barely begin to describe it. Love is a feeling, the deepest and sweetest of all. It's incredibly strong and amazingly gentle at the very same time. It is a blessing that should be counted every day. It is nourishment for the soul. It is devotion, constantly letting each person know how supportive it's certainty can be. Love is a heart filled with affection for the most important person in your life. Love is looking at the special someone who makes your world go around and absolutely loving what you see. Love gives meaning to one's world and magic to a million hopes and dreams. It makes the morning shine more brightly and each season seem like it's the nicest one anyone ever had. Love is an invaluable bond that enriches every good thing in life. It gives each hug a tenderness, each heart a happiness, each spirit a steady lift. Love is an invisible connection that is exquisitely felt by those who know the joy, feel the warmth, share the sweetness, and celebrate the gift."

Nell and Chris stood on the shoreline and read these sweet words by Douglas Pagels to one another. They were the words read at the beginning of their wedding ceremony 2 years ago. But there on the shore, it was just the two of them with only a few seagulls as witnesses. With the sand between their toes they renewed their vows to one another. They said the promises and words of love they spoke to one another on their wedding day. But this time there were no guests, no bouquets or bridesmaids, no white dress or music. There were their words and a love that was stronger then on their wedding day. There on the shore, they celebrated what the wedding was really all about - the beginning of their marriage. With tears in their eyes, they read the new vows they had written to one another, a poem, and some verses. There was a new hope, a stronger love, and a deeper bond as they held hands and spoke from the heart. It was a beautiful acknowledgement and pledge to the greatest journey they have been on and will be on for their rest of their lives.

What an honor it was for Chris and I to photograph Nell & Chris' vow renewal and anniversary session... As the wedding season draws to a close, it was a beautiful reminder of the day after the wedding. And the days after that. It's the marriage and the truly amazing journey with its valleys and peaks that two hearts will go on.
